I have found some respect for the added Marder IIIH, the M4A2 and that little champion the T80 that can hit way above its weight..but the last week of low tier events has left me wanting. I needed something with a bit of feel, a bit of punch about it and some tanky heaviness. Decided i would switch up and take a risk in a BR match and try and do some more mod work on the Tiger E. As luck would have it i selected my Tiger H1 at the battle screen and didn't realise until we had entered the game that i had selected the wrong tank.
So H1 it is, better make the best of the old girl

Eastern Europe, trundle up to a crest and come under fire immediately, 1600ish, he would have only seen my turret despite me being full broadside. Better get my game face on.
I get into position peeking over our initial cap and spy a Sherman crossing the bridge, too quick for a shot and i don't want to give my possie away. He can come to me as the only way up to our next cap is a slow grind up the hill. As i wait for him an M6A1 plods onto the bridge, turret facing away and stops..i gotta take the shot.
He disintegrates and i back away a little, my turret just popped out on the edge of of my vision, a shot lands in front and i see a T34 of sorts dash between the far houses at about 1400 and take a quick pot at him.
Just short but probably put the wind up him, nobody likes being the target of a Tiger Second shot tracks him and someone else claims the kill.
Another splash of dirt in front as soon as the previous shot has left my barrel so no time for high fives. Slightly more to my right, i swivel and see an Su popping at me from the lumberyard, i fire, our shots nearly kiss each other in mid air...

My move to face the threat has luckily put the strongest part of my tank exactly where he hits
Whereas my first shot is again just short
The Su retreats quickly and then turns and heads for the trees, man..there is nothing tastier than a TD side on, in my excitement i only manage to clip his rear lower track and just deafen the crew a tad..i slap the gunner with my cap and we reposition.
The obvious next bit of cover is in between a house and a small shed just down the hill from the lumber yard, i reload and train my gun and wait. Sure enough he pops around the corner and i cook his potatoes. This time i high five the gunner and it is grins all round.
From here on in it all starts to get a bit hectic, i check our team and we are four left against twelve. I was thinking about possibly creeping down to the bridge after the Su kill and working towards enemy cap slowly, but seeing our limited resources decide defense and hope they try a silly assault across open ground where i can make a half decent account of myself. I know at least a couple of our team are down in town as it is just continual shots and smoke puffs, maybe all three are down there duking it out in the streets, i am not going to find out as the narrow confines and ambush spots amongst the buildings make me feel claustrophobic.
I turn left to peek at our cap, keeping the city on my right and constantly checking it with binoculars, placed (hopefully) nicely to face either a cap rush or anyone coming over the bridges trying to flank. Everything starts to go ominously quiet, i recheck the stats and i am the only one remaining with twelve enemy to go. We ain't coming out of this alive. A minute later and a Shermy rolls in ..one shot and she is down.
A T34 turret pokes up just as i have finished reloading...
Even though you know once you are spotted it can be luck of the draw, that vital time when you wait for the gun and your suspension to settle can be the difference between a hit and a kill shot, i wait until i am fully settled.
Dead. He doesn't get a shot off. No sooner have i taken him out and i am rocked by a massive hit, another Su has crept up my hill and once again hit me in the only part of the tank at close range that i could take a hit and survive.
Although i am in near panic mode i wait until i am turned and then once again wait to settle then aim at the always certain kill shot corner on the Su series..
Except it doesn't kill him. I know he is painfully awaiting his 27 second reload so i sit and smile smugly as my loader slips in another round..but another shot from the opposite side plows into me and more bits of my Tiger go awol, this is all getting a bit unfair !
Loaded and aimed i take the shot on the Su before turning to face the new threat.
I hit the opposite corner on the Su but must have got the angle and he slips away below the crest, i scope where i am pretty sure the previous shot came from and see a T3485 poked out from the edge of a house staring at me. I release a bit of a wild shot that goes long as i backtrack.

We trade another round of shots and i decide to get the hell out of Dodge and look around for a covered position. The only feasible spot is a house nine million kilometres behind me to my right, we pump on full steam reverse hoping to make some sort of safety before Stalins hordes roll over the top of our one man show
As i reverse i keep scanning in front and off to the right flank where i would pop back up if i was in the Su 152
Drawing nearer to cover..i would love to turn and make the sprint but i can feel the enemy is drawing in for the kill and i cannot offer my rear to them. It's been a long time between drinks on this battlefield full of men..and any rear end action could send them into a feeding frenzy ! Another thirty or forty seconds and i will be in semi safety
But it was not to be...
I knew the battle was lost but i was hoping to keep my tank intact to fight another day, retreat and survival still counts as a victory in my books. That Red Star quantity is a hard task master though.
The Su pops up just before battle end and drives an unneeded nail into an already smouldering coffin..bastid.
Good battle that nearly went to wire and was pretty tense from go to whoah, nice to get into a heavy again that's for sure.
